Microcurrent is an advanced, non-invasive, non-surgical approach to skin care. Muscles become more defined. Skin is lifted. Lymphatic drainage is increased. This is all through the aid of a safe, controlled electrical current. The non-surgical facelift was originally based on an acupuncture treatment which regenerated the wrinkled, sagging facial muscles of post-stroke and Bell’s Palsy patients. Microcurrent was then added with better and faster results. Our microcurrent was developed under the same principles by utilizing microcurrent electricity with traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate the muscles of the face and neck. As a person begins to age, the facial muscles become weaker, skin loses its luster, and collagen/elastic production decreases.
The treatment itself takes around 40 minutes. A conductive gel, with collagen and elastin is placed on the skin. The microcurrent has two wands – a positive and a negative that the current flows through. The wands are glided over the skin, usually in an upward motion. The energy flows from the negative wand up to the positive wand, producing a lift. One side of the face is done at a time. After one side is done, you will sit up and look in a mirror – you will notice an immediate improvement in the firmness of the skin, less puffiness and an instant lift. After that, the other half of the face will be done and the whole face will be looked at to see if there is any unevenness. If there is, the areas needing more lift will be worked on a bit longer.
After the treatment, your skin will look lifted. Your skin will look “alive” because of the increase in ATP – the energy that feeds the skin cells. Puffiness will be minimized due to the lymphatic drainage. There is no down-time. Makeup can be applied immediately.
One Microcurrent is a great “event” treatment. Results will last from one week to one month, depending on the person.
Microcurrent can be performed in a series for longer lasting results. It is recommended that you do two treatments a week for five weeks to get long lasting results. After that, maintenance treatments can be performed once a month.
