Oily Skin

Oily skin can be such a problem. When sebaceous glands are overactive, they produce more sebum than normal.  When this happens, the skin’s texture becomes heavy and thick and has a shine to it.  Often times, oily skin can develop into whiteheads, milia and acne.

While some oil is good and helps to prevents wrinkles, too much oil is frustrating.

At Infuse, we have many treatments and products to help with oily skin.  Exfoliation is great for oily skin because it helps remove the outer layer of the skin so oils and bacteria can get out.  Products applied after an exfoliation will help with oil control, shine, whiteheads and blackheads.

All of the exfoliations at Infuse can be customized for oil control.  The HydraFacial and Jet Peel are both manual exfoliations of the outer layer of skin that use a solution that will help control oil.  Microdermabrasion is always a good choice for oily skin because it manually exfoliates the dead layer without adding any products, and a chemical exfoliation can be customized with different acids designed for oily skin.

Products that are specifically for oily skin include the Eminence Clear Skin line, which incorporates a facial wash, serum, protectant and masque.  The Clear Skin line incorporates cucumber, tea tree oil and yogurt to clarify and calm the skin.  These can be bought in a convenient trial kit that contains a one to two month supply.  By adding the Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant to the kit, you have a complete Oily Skin system.

The PCA Skin line has many products designed for oily skin, depending on how much of a problem it is.  The facial washes for oily skin include PCA Skin has Facial Wash Oily/Problem which

incorporates Aloe Vera, Lactic Acid and Allantoin, BPO Cleanser which is a Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser and a Blemish Control Bar, using salicylic acid, eucalyptus and sulfur.

The PCA line also has a Purifying Mask that uses Algae, Clay and Pumice to gently exfoliate, detoxify and remove impurities from the skin.

Some of the serums that are suited to oily skin are A&C Synergy Serum which is specifically formulated to control oil production and help maintain a clear, even skin tone.  Intensive Clarity Treatment is a .5% pure retinol that is for those prone to breakouts and hyperpigmentation.  There are many other serums that will work well for oily skin and address additional problems.

The moisturizers in the PCA Skin line that work best for oily skin are Perfecting Protection, Protecting Hydrator, Clearskin and Rebalance.
