Brazilian Wax – Do You Dare Go Bare?

Brazilian Wax – Do You Dare Go Bare?

Brazilian waxing – the thought of it makes some people cringe, others giggle, and some people it downright terrifies.  Brazilian waxing, when done right, is not something to be embarrassed by or afraid of.  Sure, we are pulling hair out of a very sensitive part of the body, but it’s over with quickly, calms down right away, and the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

What is a Brazilian Wax?

A full Brazilian wax is the removal of all hair from the front to the back of the pubic region and buttocks.  A partial Brazilian is the removal of most of the hair from the area, sometimes leaving what’s called a “landing strip”, a diamond shape or anything else the client may want.  A bikini wax is the removal of the hair that would stick out of a bikini.

Many types of waxes can be used for a Brazilian.  At Infuse we use two different kinds of waxes for our Brazilians.  A soft wax to get all hairs on flat surfaces.  The other is a hard wax that is a special  blend of two waxes.  One of the waxes is designed to adhere to all hair types to get every last hair out.  The other wax is designed to set up quickly so that your waxing goes very quickly.  The typical time for a Brazilian at Infuse is 15 minutes – front to back.

What Should You Do To Prepare?

Make sure that you haven’t waxed or shaved for at least four weeks.  By doing that, you can be assured that all of the hairs will be removed and you won’t have new growth soon after your wax.  While it can be done, the week before or of your menstrual cycle is not usually a good time for a wax – you will be more sensitive.

What To Expect?

You will be taken to a private room.  You will be asked to remove clothes from the waist down and lay on top of a table drape that you can cover up with.  Your Esthetician will leave the room while you are getting ready.  The skin is prepped with an oil so that the wax does not adhere to the skin.  Warm wax is then applied and pulled off.  If you want your bottom waxed, you will be asked to roll to your side (we never have you get up on your hands and knees – totally unnecessary!) and the same procedure will be done.  After all wax is removed, a calming gel will be applied to the area.  The whole procedure typically takes about 15 minutes – sometimes a little longer if it is your first time or you haven’t been in a while.  It really is very quick and easy.

I always let people know that if they do Brazilian waxing every four weeks that each time they come in it gets quicker and easier on them.  The hairs start to get finer and thinner and pull out easier.

What Are You Waiting For?

If you have put off getting a Brazilian because of horror stories you have heard or seen on the internet, don’t.  At Infuse, we have a lot of experience with Brazilian waxing and we don’t spare expense when it comes to getting the best wax for the job.

Enjoy Summer!
